Inscape produces beautifully cut, understated, elegant, timeless clothes for men and women with practicality and comfort in mind; clothes that can handle wear and tear, will improve with age, that look and feel wonderful to wear.
Lucy, the inspiration behind Inscape, spent 5 years working alongside Catherine Walker, a couture designer whose tailoring was exquisite, followed by 10 wonderfully inspiring years working in theatre, ballet and film costume. These experiences inform her choice of fabrics, their colours, the cut and overall look of the garments.
Inscape is the antithesis of ‘fast’, disposable fashion. Clothing is made in north Norfolk in small quantities, often limited edition, so that there’s no surplus stock to be ‘got rid of’ at the end of a ‘season’.
Lucy also works as a garden consultant www.lucyroberts.uk.com and favours leaving a light footprint on the earth. She chooses to work with natural materials as, not only are they so much nicer to wear, but they won’t break down into harmful particles to be found in the oceans in years to come.
Inscape subscribes to the notion of 'the language of clothes', in that if you feel good in what you are wearing you will receive compliments on how great you look . . . and there’s feelgood in receiving compliments!
